Frequently Asked Questions

1. I am a translator, and I'd like to translate one of your titles into the ______________ language. How do I proceed?
We license translation rights to international publishers who are then responsible for hiring a translator. We do not license to individuals, only accredited publishing houses.

2. How can I tell if translation rights are available for a title?
Review our current Rights Catalogue if it is a recent or popular title. The rights are indicated with the specs. You can also do a search on the title or author on Scholastic's international website. When the results appear, click on that title for further information. A list of rights sold will appear on the right hand side.

3. Do you control the rights to Charlie Bone, Geronimo Stilton or______?
Please check this list for some of the most commonly requested titles and the corresponding rights contacts.

4. Can I purchase books for export?
Titles for which Scholastic Canada holds the rights can be exported to institutional and retail clients in other countries, but sometimes restrictions apply. International schools and distributors must set up an account prior to ordering. Please email us to receive the appropriate forms and to confirm the export status of the titles you are interested in. For export of titles from Scholastic Inc. in the United States, please contact export@scholastic.com. If you live outside Canada and wish to place a personal order for one of our titles, we suggest you try www.chapters.ca or www.amazon.ca.
